EndoTAG-1

EndoTAG-1 (SB05) is a novel vascular-targeting formulation of the cytotoxic taxane paclitaxel, developed by SynCore Biotechnology (formerly Medigene). The drug consists of paclitaxel encapsulated within positively charged (cationic) liposomes. This unique delivery system is designed to selectively target the negatively charged luminal surface of activated endothelial cells in tumor neovasculature. Upon binding to these cells, the liposomes are internalized or release their payload locally, where paclitaxel disrupts microtubule dynamics, leading to the destruction of the tumor's blood supply and subsequent tumor growth inhibition. EndoTAG-1 is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for the treatment of pancreatic cancer and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
