Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Endovela Gé (dienogest 2 mg) is an approved small molecule drug developed and marketed by Exeltis France for the treatment of endometriosis. As a generic version of the reference drug Visanne, its active ingredient is dienogest, a synthetic oral progestin. The drug exerts its therapeutic effect by binding as an agonist to the progesterone receptor, which leads to the suppression of estrogen-driven endometrial tissue growth, thereby reducing endometriotic lesions and relieving associated pelvic pain. It is administered as a 2 mg tablet once daily on a continuous basis and is reimbursable in France.
