Overview

Endralazine is a peripheral vasodilator developed as an antihypertensive agent for the treatment of essential hypertension. It acts by relaxing vascular smooth muscle, leading to decreased peripheral resistance and lower blood pressure. Clinical studies have shown that endralazine is effective in reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension, including those whose condition was not controlled by beta-blockers and diuretics. Its side effect profile is similar to other hydrazine derivatives, with flushing being more common compared to dihydralazine. Unlike some related drugs (e.g., hydralazine), drug-induced lupus appears less frequent with endralazine[6][8]. Endralazine has been studied in both short-term and long-term settings for blood pressure control.
