Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ENDS S-TA-U001 is a research electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS), commonly referred to as an e-cigarette or vaporizer. It was developed as a test product for clinical studies evaluating the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of nicotine delivery in smokers and e-cigarette users. The device is designed to deliver nicotine via inhalation, mimicking the experience of smoking traditional cigarettes but without combustion. The primary indication studied was cigarette smoking, with comparisons made against both combustible cigarettes and FDA-approved smoking cessation products such as the Nicorette Inhalator. The developer and lead sponsor for clinical trials involving this product is NJOY.
