Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Endura** is a preservative-free, castor-oil-containing ophthalmic lubricant formulation formerly marketed as **Refresh Endura** and **Refresh Dry Eye Therapy** for symptomatic relief of dry eye. It contains glycerin 1% and polysorbate 80 1% as active ocular lubricants, with castor oil, carbomer copolymer, mannitol, water, and sodium hydroxide as inactive formulation components. The product is intended to supplement and stabilize the tear film, including its lipid layer, thereby reducing ocular-surface dryness, irritation, and evaporative tear loss. In the cited dry-eye trial, DET was the existing lipid-based artificial-tear comparator. The product was developed and marketed by Allergan and has been discontinued in some markets.
