Overview

Eneboparatide (AZP-3601) is a synthetic parathyroid hormone (PTH) analog developed for the treatment of chronic hypoparathyroidism. It is designed to bind with high affinity to a specific conformation of the parathyroid hormone receptor 1 (PTH1R), acting as an agonist to restore PTH function, normalize serum calcium, and manage symptoms of hypoparathyroidism while preserving kidney function and bone health. Eneboparatide aims to produce sustained and stable levels of calcium in the blood, limit urinary calcium excretion by enhancing renal reabsorption, and potentially prevent chronic kidney disease. Its unique receptor selectivity and short half-life are intended to preserve bone integrity, which is particularly important for patients at risk for osteoporosis.
