Enemeez

Enemeez is an over-the-counter (OTC) mini-enema containing docusate sodium, used primarily for the rapid relief of constipation and as a core component of bowel management programs for individuals with spinal cord injuries or neurological impairments. As a stool-softening surfactant, docusate sodium works by reducing the surface tension of the fecal mass, which facilitates the penetration of water and lipids into the stool. This process softens the stool and eases evacuation. Unlike oral stool softeners that may take 12 to 72 hours to produce results, the Enemeez mini-enema typically induces a bowel movement within 2 to 15 minutes due to its localized rectal administration.
