Energavit

Energavit is an intravenous inorganic iron complex composed of iron sucrose, developed and marketed by Amega Biotech (a subsidiary of the Megalabs group). It is specifically indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia in clinical scenarios where oral iron supplementation is ineffective, poorly tolerated, or contraindicated, such as in patients with inflammatory bowel disease or malabsorption syndromes. Upon intravenous administration, the iron sucrose complex is dissociated by the reticuloendothelial system, releasing iron that binds to transferrin. This iron is then transported to the bone marrow for incorporation into hemoglobin during erythropoiesis or stored as ferritin in the liver and spleen. Energavit provides a rapidly bioavailable source of iron to replenish depleted stores and correct hemoglobin levels.
