Overview

ENERGI-F701 is a small molecule drug developed by Energenesis Biomedical for the treatment of hair loss, specifically female pattern hair loss and alopecia areata. Its mechanism of action is as an agonist (stimulant) of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which enhances ATP production in human follicle dermal papilla cells. This activity is believed to slow down follicle aging and prolong the hair cycle, potentially counteracting negative effects such as those induced by dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Clinical studies have shown that topical ENERGI-F701 increases hair density and thickness in women with pattern hair loss, with efficacy comparable or superior to minoxidil 2% solution. The drug has completed Phase 2 clinical trials for alopecia indications but has not received regulatory approval[1][2][3][4][5][6].
