Overview

Enflunibu (also known as SH1573) is an orally bioavailable small molecule kinase inhibitor developed by Nanjing Sanhome Pharmaceutical. It specifically targets Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3), a receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a critical role in the proliferation and survival of hematopoietic progenitor cells. Mutations in the FLT3 gene, such as internal tandem duplications (FLT3-ITD) and tyrosine kinase domain (TKD) mutations, are among the most common genetic alterations in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and are associated with a poor prognosis. Enflunibu is designed to inhibit the constitutive signaling of these mutant FLT3 kinases, thereby inducing apoptosis and inhibiting the growth of leukemic blasts. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of relapsed or refractory AML.
