Engineered Immune Effector (EIE) cells are an autologous cell therapy platform developed by the Shenzhen Geno-Immune Medical Institute (GIMI) for the treatment of various advanced cancers. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own immune effector cells to express receptors that specifically target tumor-associated antigens (TAAs). Once re-infused into the patient, these engineered cells recognize and eliminate cancer cells expressing the target antigens. The EIE platform is part of GIMI's broader immunotherapy portfolio, which includes CAR-T and dendritic cell vaccines, and is designed to address both hematological malignancies and solid tumors. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials to assess safety and therapeutic efficacy in patients with refractory or advanced disease.
