Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EnLyte is a prescription medical food developed by JayMac Pharmaceuticals for the clinical dietary management of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), specifically in patients with MTHFR polymorphisms and methylation pathway deficiencies. It is formulated as an oral softgel containing a specific combination of bioavailable B vitamins, including levomefolate magnesium (7 mg), leucovorin (2.5 mg), folic acid (1 mg), and adenosylcobalamin (50 mcg), along with other essential cofactors. EnLyte's mechanism of action involves bypassing genetic defects in the MTHFR enzyme to provide the necessary precursors for the methylation cycle, which is critical for the synthesis of monoamine neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. By addressing these underlying nutritional and metabolic deficiencies, EnLyte supports mood regulation and has been clinically shown to lower homocysteine levels in patients with MDD and MTHFR polymorphisms.
