Overview

ENMD-1420 is a preclinical small molecule anticancer agent developed by EntreMed (now CASI Pharmaceuticals). It functions as a dual-action compound, acting as both a tubulin polymerization inhibitor and an inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) production. By targeting tubulin microtubules, which are essential for cell division and structural integrity, ENMD-1420 disrupts mitotic processes in cancer cells. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its antitumor efficacy in both in vitro and in vivo models, suggesting potential applications in oncology, although its clinical development status remains limited in public records.
