enoragutide

Enoragutide (XW003) is a novel, long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Sciwind Biosciences. It is a modified human GLP-1 peptide optimized for once-weekly subcutaneous administration, offering improved metabolic stability and a prolonged half-life compared to endogenous GLP-1. Enoragutide is primarily being developed for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes, where it stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon release, and slows gastric emptying to improve glycemic control and induce significant weight loss. Additionally, it is being evaluated in Phase III clinical trials for the management of knee osteoarthritis in patients with obesity, focusing on the dual benefits of weight reduction and pain relief. The drug is also under investigation for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
