Overview

Enoxa is a biosimilar formulation of enoxaparin sodium, a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), developed by Les Laboratoires des Médicaments Stériles (MédiS). It acts as an anticoagulant by binding to and accelerating the activity of antithrombin III, which in turn inhibits activated Factor X (Factor Xa) and, to a lesser degree, Factor IIa (thrombin). Enoxa is indicated for the treatment of acute coronary syndrome (including unstable angina and both NSTEMI and STEMI), deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism, as well as for the prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism in surgical patients. It is administered via subcutaneous injection and is available in various strengths in prefilled syringes.
