Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ENS-003** is a novel live biotherapeutic product (LBP) discovered by Concerto Biosciences using their kChip platform, which screens millions of microbial combinations. It consists of commensal microbial strains designed to modulate *Candida albicans* behavior, promoting healthy growth and combating overgrowth associated with vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), a common fungal infection affecting millions of women annually. Unlike antibiotics or antifungals that broadly disrupt the microbiome, ENS-003 targets pathogen behavior selectively while preserving beneficial microbes, aiming to reduce recurrence rates of VVC, which impacts up to 75% of women at least once in their lifetime. Developed as part of Concerto's ensemble series (following ENS-002 for atopic dermatitis), it represents an early-stage microbiome therapy leveraging synthetic biology for women's health indications.[5][9][10][11][13]
