Overview
Ensartinib + pemetrexed + carboplatin is a combination therapy being investigated as a neoadjuvant treatment for patients with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Ensartinib is a potent, next-generation small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that selectively targets the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) protein, which is often mutated or fused in certain lung cancers. Pemetrexed is a folate antimetabolite that interferes with DNA synthesis, while carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy agent that causes DNA cross-linking, leading to cell death. This combination is specifically being evaluated in the TD-ENSEMBLE study, led by Tang-Du Hospital, to assess its efficacy in achieving pathological complete response (pCR) and improving surgical outcomes in patients with operable stage II-IIIB (N2) ALK-positive NSCLC.
