Overview

ENT-AD is a preclinical-stage, centrally acting small molecule under development by Metabolics Pharma for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The drug is designed to target and inhibit Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 1B (PTP1B), an enzyme that plays a key role in regulating insulin and leptin signaling pathways. By inhibiting PTP1B, ENT-AD aims to reverse central insulin resistance in the brain, which is increasingly recognized as a contributing factor to the cognitive decline and neurodegeneration associated with Alzheimer's disease. ENT-AD is being developed for both injectable and oral administration.
