Overview

ENT1 inhibitor is a small molecule drug candidate being developed by Collaborations Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of various cancers. It functions by inhibiting the Equilibrative Nucleoside Transporter 1 (ENT1), also known as SLC29A1, which is a key transporter responsible for the cellular uptake of nucleosides and nucleoside-analog chemotherapies. In the context of oncology, ENT1 inhibition is primarily explored to modulate the levels of extracellular adenosine, a potent immunosuppressive signaling molecule in the tumor microenvironment. By blocking the reuptake of adenosine into cells, ENT1 inhibitors can potentially enhance anti-tumor immune responses or be used in combination with other therapies to overcome resistance. The program is currently in the preclinical in-vitro stage of development.
