entecavir + resveratrol

Entecavir + resveratrol is an investigational combination therapy for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. This combination pairs entecavir, a nucleoside analogue that inhibits HBV polymerase activity, with resveratrol, which may provide complementary effects. Entecavir works by competing with the natural substrate deoxyguanosine triphosphate and inhibiting all three activities of the HBV polymerase: base priming, reverse transcription of the negative strand, and synthesis of the positive strand of HBV DNA. The combination has been studied in clinical trials to evaluate whether it offers superior efficacy compared to entecavir monotherapy.
