Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The enterovirus 71 vaccine + recombinant hepatitis B vaccine + group A meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine is a trivalent combination vaccine candidate developed by Beijing Minhai Biotechnology. It is designed to provide simultaneous protection against three distinct infectious diseases in pediatric populations: Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) caused by Enterovirus 71 (EV71), Hepatitis B, and Meningococcal meningitis caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroup A. The vaccine formulation incorporates an inactivated EV71 antigen (produced using human diploid cells), a recombinant Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), and the purified capsular polysaccharide of serogroup A meningococci. By combining these antigens into a single injection, the candidate aims to simplify the pediatric immunization schedule, improve vaccination compliance, and reduce the number of clinical visits. As of 2021, the vaccine was undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in China to assess its safety and immunogenicity in healthy subjects aged 2 months and older.
