ENTLEP001

ENTLEP001 is a systemically administered investigational gene therapy developed by Entos Pharmaceuticals. It uses the Fusogenix PLV platform to deliver genetic material encoding native human leptin, resulting in durable and redosable expression of biologically relevant levels of unmodified human leptin in the body. The therapy aims to address significant unmet needs in congenital generalized lipodystrophy (CGL) and obesity by providing long-lasting leptin replacement with potentially only one or two doses per year. Preclinical studies have shown normalization of glucose and insulin levels, decreased weight gain and food intake, and robust clinical effects in relevant animal models. Unlike current therapies such as metreleptin that require daily injections and can cause injection site reactions or neutralizing antibodies, ENTLEP001 offers a less frequent dosing schedule with improved patient compliance[2][3][4][8].
