Entrega GLP-1 oral platform

The Entrega GLP-1 oral platform is a preclinical-stage oral peptide delivery technology developed by Entrega, Inc., an affiliate of PureTech Health. The platform utilizes a proprietary, customizable hydrogel dosage form combined with nanoparticle technology to enable the oral administration of GLP-1 receptor agonists, which are typically delivered via injection. By controlling local fluid microenvironments within the gastrointestinal tract, the technology enhances the absorption of therapeutic peptides and reduces the variability of drug exposure. Preclinical data in large animals has demonstrated a two- to three-fold increase in oral peptide bioavailability compared to standard permeation enhancer formulations. The platform is being developed for metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes and obesity, and received an early investment from Eli Lilly to explore applications with their therapeutic candidates.
