Overview

ENV515 is a proprietary, biodegradable, sustained-release intracameral implant formulation of the prostaglandin analogue travoprost, developed for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The drug utilizes PRINT (Particle Replication In Non-Wetting Templates) technology to create a poly(esteramide) polymer-based implant that is injected into the anterior chamber of the eye. Once implanted, it provides controlled release of travoprost over 6–12 months by zero-order kinetics as the polymer degrades in situ. Travoprost acts as an agonist at prostaglandin F receptor sites to increase uveoscleral outflow and lower intraocular pressure (IOP). Clinical trials have demonstrated that a single dose can achieve clinically meaningful IOP reduction comparable to daily topical prostaglandin analogs for up to 11 months with good tolerability; transient hyperemia was noted as a common adverse event[1][2][5][6][7].
