Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ENV905 is an investigational, biodegradable intraocular drug-delivery implant containing the corticosteroid difluprednate, developed using Envisia Therapeutics’ PRINT particle-fabrication technology to achieve sustained steroid release to the anterior segment of the eye after a single administration. ENV905 is designed as an alternative to frequent topical corticosteroid eye drops, aiming to maintain therapeutic intraocular difluprednate levels for weeks while improving adherence and reducing dosing burden in postoperative ocular inflammation and pain, particularly after cataract surgery.[4][7][8][10] In nonclinical rabbit and dog studies, ENV905 produced robust, sustained reductions in ocular inflammation with acceptable local tolerability and targeted drug distribution, supporting its advancement into early-phase clinical trials.[4][7][10]
