EO-3001

EO-3001 is a first-in-class small-molecule anticancer drug in clinical development for the treatment of solid tumors harboring ARID1A mutations. Its primary indication is ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC), an aggressive subtype of epithelial ovarian cancer with poor prognosis and limited treatment options. The mechanism of action involves selective inhibition of mitochondrial proteins required for oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), exploiting the metabolic vulnerability of ARID1A-mutant tumor cells that are highly dependent on OXPHOS due to their open chromatin structure and increased energy demands. This leads to energy deprivation and apoptosis in these cancer cells. Edison Oncology is developing EO-3001, with planned bridging and pivotal registration studies targeting patients with ARID1A-mutated OCCC[1][2][6].
