Overview

EO2002 is a first-in-class, nonsurgical, cell-based therapy developed for the treatment of corneal edema. It utilizes Emmecell's proprietary Magnetic Cell Delivery technology to deliver human corneal endothelial cells precisely onto the posterior cornea. This approach promotes integration and regeneration of the endothelium, leading to improvements in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), reduced central corneal thickness, increased endothelial cell density, and potential disease modification for conditions such as Fuchs dystrophy. EO2002 offers a transformative alternative to invasive procedures like corneal transplantation by enabling treatment of multiple patients from a single donor cornea[1][2][5][7].
