Overview

EO2317 is an investigational, second-generation OncoMimic peptide-based immunotherapy developed by Enterome for the treatment of microsatellite stable (MSS) colorectal adenocarcinoma. Part of Enterome's OncoMimics platform, EO2317 consists of synthetic peptides derived from the gut microbiome that share high sequence homology with specific tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) overexpressed in colorectal cancer cells. These microbiome-derived peptides are recognized as foreign by the immune system, allowing them to trigger a robust activation of memory T cells that cross-react with the tumor antigens, thereby bypassing the central immune tolerance that often limits the efficacy of traditional cancer vaccines. EO2317 is typically evaluated in clinical trials in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors, such as nivolumab, to maximize the recruitment and activity of cytotoxic T lymphocytes within the tumor microenvironment of patients with mismatch repair proficient (pMMR) or MSS colorectal cancer.
