EOM147 is an investigational, reformulated broad-spectrum aminosterol developed by EOM Pharmaceutical for the treatment of retinal diseases, including wet age-related macular degeneration (wet-AMD), diabetic retinopathy (DR), and macular edema due to retinal vein occlusion. Unlike standard anti-VEGF therapies that require intravitreal injections, EOM147 is formulated as a topical eye drop, offering a potentially less invasive administration route. The drug operates through a unique intracellular mechanism that inhibits multiple angiogenic growth factors, specifically vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF).
