Overview

EOP1 is a first-generation vaginal pessary developed to alleviate symptoms of urogenital atrophy (UA) in breast cancer survivors, particularly those undergoing endocrine therapy. It is formulated with a cocoa butter base and contains three plant extracts/essential oils: CM, PG, and CO, each at a 1% volume/volume concentration. Initial evaluations indicated its effectiveness in reducing UA symptoms. However, subsequent in vitro studies revealed that two of its components, CM and PG, exhibited significant estrogenic activity, raising safety concerns for patients with estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.
