Overview

EOP2 is a second-generation essential oil pessary developed to treat urogenital atrophy (UA) in breast cancer survivors undergoing endocrine therapy. It is formulated with a cocoa butter base and contains a combination of three plant extracts/essential oils: Lavandula angustifolia, Chamaemelum nobile, and Calendula officinalis CO2 extract. This formulation was specifically designed to be minimally estrogenic, differentiating it from its predecessor (EOP1), which contained components with significant estrogenic activity. EOP2 aims to alleviate UA symptoms through the antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties of its essential oil components, without the potential negative impact on breast cancer outcomes that could arise from systemic estrogen absorption.
