EP-104GI is a long-acting, injectable formulation of the corticosteroid fluticasone propionate, developed by Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). It utilizes Eupraxia’s proprietary polymer-based DiffuSphere technology to provide sustained local drug release directly into the esophageal wall, aiming to maximize therapeutic action at the site of disease while minimizing systemic exposure and side effects. The drug is administered as multiple injections into targeted areas of the esophagus and is designed to offer extended symptom relief—potentially up to nine months per dose—by reducing inflammation, eosinophil counts, and improving histological markers associated with EoE.
