EP-3600 is a gadolinium-based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent that was part of EPIX Pharmaceuticals’ portfolio of investigational agents for myocardial perfusion imaging. It is designed to enhance visualization of myocardial blood flow and perfusion defects during cardiac MRI by altering local magnetic properties where gadolinium accumulates, thereby improving contrast between well‑perfused and ischemic myocardium. As an investigational agent, EP-3600 and related analogs were positioned as next-generation gadolinium chelates with potential cardiac-specific imaging advantages, but there is no evidence that the program advanced to regulatory approval or broad clinical use.[7]
