Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EP-miR144 is an engineered phage vector designed for muscle-targeted delivery of microRNA-144 (miR144). Developed by researchers at Yangzhou University, it is being investigated as a systemic anti-aging therapy. In preclinical models, EP-miR144 exerts anti-aging effects by upregulating SPARC (secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine), an extracellular matrix-associated protein that is downregulated in skeletal muscle during aging. Administration of EP-miR144 has been shown to improve metabolic and muscle function, reduce aging biomarkers and frailty, and extend lifespan in aged mice and goat models.
