Overview
EPACH Recipe Granules + NQABC Recipe Granules is a sequential Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal therapy developed by Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. The therapy consists of two distinct herbal formulations administered in sequence: the Eliminating Phlegm and Clearing Heat (EPACH) recipe is given during the first five days of treatment, followed by the Nourishing Qi and Activating Blood Circulation (NQABC) recipe from day six to fifteen. This sequential approach is designed to align with the pathological evolution of stroke in TCM theory, targeting phlegm-heat in the early acute phase and qi deficiency with blood stasis in the subsequent recovery phase. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 4 clinical trial as an adjunctive treatment to standard stroke care to improve neurological outcomes.
