Overview

Epalolitovorellizumab (RC148) is a recombinant humanized bispecific monoclonal antibody designed to simultaneously target programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). Developed by RemeGen, the drug aims to provide synergistic anti-tumor activity by combining immune checkpoint inhibition with anti-angiogenesis. By blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway, it restores T-cell mediated anti-tumor immunity, while its anti-VEGF component inhibits tumor vascularization and normalizes the tumor microenvironment, potentially enhancing the infiltration of immune cells. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, including combinations with chemotherapy like docetaxel, for the treatment of advanced solid tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that have progressed after prior immunotherapy.
