Overview

Epaminurad + naproxen is a combination of two small molecule drugs. Epaminurad (also known as SIM0295) is a novel inhibitor of human uric acid transporter 1 (hURAT1), developed for the treatment of gout and hyperuricemia[4]. Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reversibly inhibiting both cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), leading to decreased prostaglandin synthesis and resulting in reduced inflammation and pain[2][6][8]. The combination may be used to address both the underlying hyperuricemia/gout with epaminurad and the associated pain/inflammation with naproxen.
