Overview

EPATG is a triglyceride ester of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) being developed by Applied Lipid Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Lobe Sciences, as a component of the S-100 therapeutic program for sickle cell disease. S-100 is an early-stage therapeutic candidate consisting of a unique blend of triglyceride esters of docosahexaenoic acid (DHATG) and EPA (EPATG), delivered via a proprietary lipid-based platform and a patented absorption-enhancing excipient system to improve bioavailability. EPATG is designed to address the underlying disease mechanisms of sickle cell disease, such as chronic inflammation and vaso-occlusive crises, by leveraging the anti-inflammatory properties of omega-3 fatty acids. The company is currently advancing chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) activities to support clinical supply for a planned Phase 2a study.
