Overview

EPC-005 is an armored bispecific chimeric antigen receptor natural killer (CAR-NK) cell therapy being developed by Elpis Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Currently in the preclinical stage, EPC-005 utilizes Elpis's proprietary multi-mechanism armor technology combined with bispecific targeting to direct NK cell cytotoxicity against AML cells. While the company's official pipeline lists the targets as non-disclosed, available information indicates that the therapy targets CD123 (Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha), a marker frequently expressed on AML cells. The 'armored' component of the therapy is designed to overcome tumor heterogeneity and the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, enhancing the efficacy and persistence of the NK cells.
