Overview
EpCAM CAR-T is a chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy designed to target EpCAM (Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule) expressed on cancer cells. It is being investigated for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, including gastric cancer and colorectal cancer. The therapy involves modifying a patient's T cells to express a CAR that recognizes EpCAM, thereby directing the T cells to specifically attack EpCAM-positive tumor cells. Clinical trials have shown a favorable safety profile and promising efficacy, particularly in gastric cancer, with observed activation of immune pathways and NKT cells contributing to the therapeutic response.
