EpCAM-SN-38 RNA Nanoparticle is a preclinical therapeutic candidate developed by RNA NanoBiotics for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). The drug utilizes a programmable 4-way junction (4WJ) RNA nanoparticle architecture to deliver SN-38, the active metabolite of the topoisomerase I inhibitor irinotecan, specifically to cells expressing the Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (EpCAM). By leveraging the stability and modularity of the 4WJ RNA scaffold, the nanoparticle is designed to enhance the delivery of the cytotoxic payload to tumor sites while minimizing systemic exposure and off-target toxicities associated with conventional chemotherapy.
