Overview

Epcoritamab is a CD20xCD3 bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) developed by Genmab and AbbVie. It is designed to simultaneously bind to CD3 on T cells and CD20 on B cells, thereby inducing T-cell-mediated cytotoxic killing of CD20-positive malignant B cells. In the specific clinical context of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, epcoritamab is being evaluated in a Phase 2 trial in combination with a reduced-intensity chemotherapy regimen known as R-miniCVP (comprising rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and prednisone). This combination is specifically targeted toward older, unfit, or frail patients, as well as those ineligible for standard anthracycline-based therapies, who have newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The regimen aims to provide a frontline treatment option that balances high efficacy with a more tolerable safety profile for vulnerable patient populations.
