Overview

EphB4 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and silence the expression of the EphB4 (Ephrin type-B receptor 4) gene. EphB4 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that is frequently overexpressed or amplified in various cancers, including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, where it contributes to aggressive clinical behavior. The siRNA functions through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, leading to the sequence-specific degradation of EphB4 mRNA and a subsequent reduction in EphB4 protein levels. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that treatment with EphB4 siRNA inhibits tumor cell motility and proliferation by abrogating the phosphorylation of downstream signaling proteins such as FAK and AKT. This modality represents a targeted approach to inhibiting the oncogenic signaling pathways driven by EphB4 overexpression.
