Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EpiCept-NP-1 is a patented topical analgesic cream developed by EpiCept Corporation. It is a combination drug containing two FDA-approved drugs: 4% amitriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, and 2% ketamine, an NMDA receptor antagonist. This formulation was designed to provide effective, long-term relief from the pain associated with various peripheral neuropathies, including post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN), diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), and chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CPN). The topical route of administration aims to minimize systemic side effects and drug interactions.
