Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EpilepCell is a preclinical-stage cell therapy being developed by Epilepsy Bio, a subsidiary of Therapeutic Solutions International, for the treatment of epilepsy and seizure disorders, including temporal lobe epilepsy. The therapy utilizes **JadiCells**, a proprietary population of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) known for their high potency and enhanced secretion of therapeutic factors. EpilepCell is designed to address the underlying neuroinflammation and neuronal damage associated with chronic seizures. By modulating the immune response and promoting a neuroprotective environment, the therapy aims to prevent the loss of GABAergic interneurons and reduce seizure frequency and severity. The development of EpilepCell represents a novel regenerative medicine approach for patients who are refractory to conventional anti-epileptic drugs.
