Overview
Epirizole is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) developed for the treatment of conditions such as chronic rheumatoid arthritis and muscle and joint pain. It is an oral small molecule that was tested in clinical trials, but its current development status is unknown and it is believed to be discontinued. Epirizole acts by reducing inflammation and pain, with some evidence suggesting its effect may involve the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). It has also been identified as a duodenal ulcerogen. The drug has been referred to by several synonyms, including mepirizole and methopyrimazole[1][2][3][4].
