This is a combination regimen consisting of three chemotherapeutic agents—epirubicin, cisplatin, and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)—with Endostar (recombinant human endostatin). Epirubicin is an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II, leading to cytotoxicity. Cisplatin is a platinum-based compound that forms DNA crosslinks and induces apoptosis. 5-Fluorouracil is a pyrimidine analog that inhibits thymidylate synthase, disrupting DNA synthesis. Endostar is an antiangiogenic biologic agent developed in China; it inhibits tumor angiogenesis by blocking the VEGF/VEGFR2 pathway and normalizing tumor vasculature[1][4][7]. This combination aims to enhance antitumor efficacy by combining direct cytotoxic effects with inhibition of tumor blood vessel formation. It has been studied primarily in solid tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other malignancies[3][8].
