epirubicin + cyclophosphamide + docetaxel is a sequential combination chemotherapy regimen utilized primarily in the neoadjuvant and adjuvant treatment of breast cancer. The regimen, often abbreviated as EC-T, involves an initial phase of the anthracycline epirubicin and the alkylating agent cyclophosphamide (EC), followed by a subsequent phase of the taxane docetaxel (T). Cyclophosphamide is a nitrogen mustard alkylating agent that forms DNA cross-links, thereby inhibiting DNA replication and transcription. Docetaxel binds to and stabilizes microtubules, preventing their disassembly and resulting in cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase. This specific regimen is being evaluated by Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital in clinical studies to determine its efficacy and safety, particularly when combined with adjunctive therapies like traditional Chinese medicine.
