Overview

This is a combination regimen consisting of three drugs: - **Epirubicin** is an anthracycline antibiotic that acts as a cytotoxic agent by intercalating DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, leading to inhibition of DNA replication and RNA synthesis, resulting in cell death. - **Cyclophosphamide** is an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA strands, preventing cell division and leading to apoptosis. - **Pegfilgrastim** is a long-acting recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) analog. It stimulates the production, proliferation, differentiation, and activation of neutrophils by binding to the G-CSF receptor on hematopoietic cells. Pegfilgrastim reduces the risk of infection due to neutropenia caused by myelosuppressive chemotherapy[1][2][3][5]. This combination regimen is commonly used in oncology for adjuvant or neoadjuvant treatment of breast cancer and other solid tumors. Pegfilgrastim is included specifically to reduce the incidence or duration of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia.
