Overview

EC-THP is a multi-drug chemotherapy and targeted therapy regimen used primarily for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. The regimen consists of two initial drugs, epirubicin (an anthracycline antibiotic) and cyclophosphamide (an alkylating agent), followed sequentially by docetaxel (a taxane chemotherapy), trastuzumab (a monoclonal antibody targeting the HER2 receptor), and pertuzumab (another monoclonal antibody targeting a different site on the HER2 receptor). This combination is designed to maximize anti-tumor efficacy by attacking cancer cells through multiple mechanisms—DNA damage, microtubule inhibition, and dual blockade of HER2 signaling pathways. It is typically administered in cycles as neoadjuvant or adjuvant therapy for patients with early-stage or locally advanced HER2-positive breast cancer[5][2].
